How do I do it?

Brainstorm

Try thinking about what you’d grab from your home if it were on fire and you had to get out fast (assuming all living beings could get out on their own). For some additional help, look at the list of values (also in the activity form). Which ones feel right and which ones feel totally off? Why? Look at your photos, files, friendships, and work relationships. Why do you find yourself attracted to certain activities and people? Thinking about yourself in the context of decisions you’ve made is helpful too.

Be Present

Activities like this are hard because we are evolving all the time. Even if you may have been very careful or responsible earlier in life, now you might love a good adventure! Try to focus on the now and your adult life.

💡 Quick Tip: Once you finish this activity, put your values somewhere where you will see them each day.

Ask a friend

Once you review the list of values, as a friend share which ones feel most like you. You may be surprised by what they say. This activity is an act of self-awareness.
